‘The photo on the left is the result of a massive trip in the States (which included a big party week in Vegas)! There was a lot of drinking, partying and eating rubbish food! ‘In March 2014 I weighed in at just over 150kgs, I would start a new diet for the one thousandth time and after a brief period of success loosing 20kgs I regained over half that to blow back out too 145kgs. I’ve done the man shakes, the Atkins diet, lite and easy all the cleanses and fast weight loss routines and Garcinia Cambodia pills you could find. And this is the vicious cycle I had been stuck in for years. Then in September 2014 I come across The Gorilla Pits advertisement on Facebook, and the rest is history.

My experience at the pit so far has been nothing short of life changing. I am now 85kgs that’s a loss of 65kgs but not only am I lighter, I am also fitter faster and stronger than ever. And I owe it all to the guidance, training and education from the guys at the pit.

The trainers are amazing I have had the pleasure of training under Nath, Corey, Matty and Harley during my time and they are all AMAZING. with their own individual qualities but The big thing for me is you can tell they genuinely want to see you succeed. This has been a major motivating factor for myself. The other thing I love is they are never to busy for you, they always have time for you to hit them up with a question or just have a bit of a chat. and they are seriously encyclopaedias I haven’t asked a question yet they didn’t know the answer to. All the guys seem to know how to get the most out of you thus helping you reap the rewards of the workouts. the friendly atmosphere they create makes going to the gym a treat I usually show up half an hour early and just catch up with the guys and warm up.

The training is always hard, I still find it just as hard as the day I started. the programs are kept fresh and training in a group environment, there is always that sense of competition it makes you push harder between seeing the guy next to you busting his ass and one of the trainers always watching your form and effort it will always be enough to make you push yourself make the training that little bit harder, and when the training is hard you feel great, you learn to love every second of it.

The guys have armed me with the knowledge to ensure that I will never go back to what I used to be. Instead of just telling me to eat steak and vegetables, they tell me why to eat the foods they prescribe. The importance of insulin and being in an insulin sensitive state. The importance of protein in the diet, the importance of carbs and how and when to eat them and get the most out of them. And the things they say make sense, which makes it easy to follow.

Basically I could go on all day about how good the gorilla pit is, but the truth is I can never describe the amazingness of that place and how it has changed my life. I cant thank the guys enough because it has been nothing but an absolute pleasure to train at the gorilla pit and the results speak for themselves.’

‘The Gorilla Pit has been an awesome experience for me in many ways. My weight had ballooned to 91.5 kg when I came to The Gorilla Pit. I was drinking most nights and had little energy. I thought I had a good grasp on nutrition, it soon became clear that my knowledge was very limited. The Gorilla Pit team gave me an understanding of nutrition with easy to follow guidelines on what to eat and when to eat it. I loved the fact the workouts completely changed every few weeks. I have tried other weight training  programs before but this has by far been the best for me. My energy levels are higher than they were ten years ago and this has affected my relationship with my two kids as I am far more present for them.
