DON’T GET COMFORTABLE!

We have 2 weeks left in the year, right.. you don’t need to be do anything massive in these next few days. You do however need you to be doing something small! Start planting some seeds so that this time next year you’re able to look up and say BOOM! I’ve made the this year the best year of my life!

Have you ever decided to make a big change in your life?

Not just in regards to your health and fitness, it could be your career, or where you’re living whatever it might be something in your life that you’re unhappy with, so you decided to make a change?

For most people, major changes in life begin with a huge burst of enthusiasm.

Too often, once this initial rush of energy being pumped into making this massive life change begins fades away. Many people discover that their focus of energy begins to diminish, they begin to slide backwards into their same old habits and patterns which they were so desperately trying to move away from.

In today’s fast paced world, everyone seems to want instant results or in our industry “quick fixes”. Many people believe that putting any effort into trying to create a change needs to show quick results or they will begin to lose motivation, interest and eventually give up. Nothing’s happening, so why bother right?” Wrong!

The truth is guys, that it’s the little things that I’m asking you to do in these last couple of weeks of 2017 that will make the biggest difference!

The most difficult things to change is your habits which are made up of the sum of all of your day to day experiences and actions.

Just as the internet is made up of millions of different computers all linked together to form one massive web of information, so to is your life built out of millions of interconnected memories and experiences.

Your life is continuously growing out of tiny pieces of time. One small action connected to the next, and each one of these tiny pieces of your life mould the whole structure of who you are.

Many years ago, a wise man from India who was living in some very tough times wrote these words :

“Carefully watch your THOUGHTS, for they become your WORDS.

Manage and watch your WORDS, for they will become your ACTIONS.

Consider and judge your ACTIONS, for they have become your HABITS.

Acknowledge and watch your HABITS, for they shall become your VALUES.

Understand and embrace your VALUES, for they become YOUR DESTINY.”

– Gandhi

Every day brings subtle and slight changes. No matter how ingrained your habits are, no matter how deeply entrenched you are in your routines, at the end of every day you will be a little bit different from who you were when you woke up that morning.

The amazing thing is that you have the power every day to consciously decide which direction you want to be moving towards.

One of the most well known Chinese proverbs says

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”

On any given day the changes you make don’t have to be massive, earth shaking events. Simply decide what it is that you want, and then take small, conscious steps towards that goal every single day.

It’s almost ironic that sometimes the fastest way to make major, lasting, changes is to take small actions. Just a daily series of steps repeated over and over again towards a conscious goal.

So as you progress through the back end of this week, the first week of December. I want you to look at every action you make, no matter how big or small, take a note of everything you do or don’t do and at the end of each decision ask yourself. “In which direction am I moving? What will be the result of these actions repeated over and over again?”

For ultimately, at the end of our lives, all we will be left with is a journey. It will be the time spent on becoming what we are that will make up our lives. So make the most of every precious moment, and remember,

It’s the little things you do every day that really make a huge difference to make the rest of your life the best of your life!

So go finish strong guys!
